Amcor Wins Gold & Silver at Sustainability & Impact Awards 2026

Amcor Circularity Polymers won Gold in the Sustainability and Impact and its stick for haircare brand Cut by Fred received a Silver award.

Amcor has won two awards for two initiatives. Amcor Circularity Polymers won Gold in the Sustainability and Impact Awards 2026, organized by UK B2B publication Packaging News; and Amcor’s Exclusive stick for haircare brand Cut by Fred received a Silver award in the Beauty and Personal Care category.

First prize in the Sustainable Innovation and Investment category went to Amcor Circularity Polymers’ CleanStream system, which mechanically recycles household polypropylene (PP) waste into high-purity recycled plastic suitable for contact-sensitive and non-contact-sensitive applications.

The process employs multiple AI-driven steps, including automated identification and decontamination to achieve high polymer purity. This enables the recycled polymer to be used in contact-sensitive applications, such as the beauty and cosmetics sectors, without compromising on performance in terms of aesthetics, protection, and functionality.

Ellen Seyda, sustainability director, RPSI, at Amcor said: “We are delighted to have won gold in this highly competitive category. Our ability to produce this premium PCR PP for both contact- and non-contact sensitive applications is a significant step forward in enhancing plastic circularity. CleanStream provides a compelling value proposition for recycling and packaging, demonstrating how companies can achieve more sustainability while driving business success.”

For Cut By Fred, Amcor developed its Exclusive stick for Cut By Fred’s refillable solution. The stick enabled the refill to be accurately dispensed and easily inserted into the original packaging, minimizing contact with the formula to prevent any product contamination.

In addition, the stick is made entirely from PP. This mono-material construction means that the packaging can be recycled, where appropriate recycling infrastructure exists, once they reach their end of life.

Marine Sueur, regional sales director France at Amcor said: “To achieve recognition for our work with Cut By Fred is the perfect demonstration of how Amcor can help companies to become more sustainable in line with the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). This solution enhances the customer experience without compromising the performance and effectiveness of the packaging.”
